The attachment is powered by your stand mixer, you just need to add the batter and let the freeze bowl and dasher do all the work of making your homemade fresh ice cream.

Would like if the freeze bowl didn't take quite so long to freeze. Plus it only allows you to make one batch as the liquid in the freeze bowl thaws within about forty minutes or so. So if you want a second batch you will need to wait another fifteen hour to refreeze the freeze bowl. Of course, you could always just purchase a 2nd freeze bowl and have them both in the freezer.

The plastic connector is poorly constructed
Only makes custard style ice cream, Philadelphia style doesn't have any eggs in it and needs more whipping power than this ice cream attachment is capable of producing.
This ice cream maker/attachment is fun to use and very easy to use if you follow the directions. Unfortunately it doesn't work with older models even though they state that it works will all models. The ice cream that was made using the Ben & Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream book recipes was absolutely delicious! This item works great and can be purchased at a very reasonable price for what you are getting. Buy it and enjoy some homemade ice cream today!
